The next meeting of the judiciary reform will be held on October 31st.
The second meeting will be organized by the Ministry of Justice, and
will have the same inclusive format that was guaranteed by Minister
Nasip Naco, without explaining what will be the level of representation
of the majority and opposition in it.
“This reform will be all-inclusive, long-term and within a very quick time, because we have lost a lot of time. We are left way behind in this direction”, Naco declared.
The October meeting will start here and will discuss how it will intervene in the judiciary system. Naco said that this is clear for the government, because they know they should deal with the highest justice institutions.
“We need reforms at the Supreme Court, the High Council of Justice, the Constitutional Court, the School of Magistrate and the Prosecution Council. We have established the main pillars where we want this system to be reformed. We are open for Constitutional amends. We are ready to change the entire judiciary system”, Naco declared.
The Minister also ended the mysteries about the structure that will plan the draft of the deep judiciary reform.
“The Albanian Parliament will have a special commission for the reform of the judiciary syste, where the numbers between the majority and opposition might be almost the same. There will be various experts, the presence of the civil society and working groups. The opposition will also get involved with their best experts, and they will also be part of te special commission. There will also be our international partners, who will give us their assistance to reform the system. We don’t have to make wonders with this. We simply must implement the best experiences of the EU”, Naco declared.
Minister Nasip Naco confirmed that the president will be among the main actors of this reform. He gave the same all-inclusive guarantees for the opposition, which has rejected the Parliamentary Commission as an option for planning the judiciary reform and certifying this process that, according to them, should be done by the Commission of Venice.
”We don’t have time to lose. We must progress with the reform. I believe that the opposition will be part of it. I want to take advantage and appeal the opposition that they don’t have only the Democratic Party, but also the Parliament that is playing its role”, Naco declared.
