The former Minister of Finances, Anastas Angjeli, thinks that the “no”
vote of the Greek referendum leaves Greece in the Eurozone. The Greek
government and the EU will find a compromise to resolve the situation
and give this government the option to restart the reforms and answer
Brussels’ requests, according to him.
Although he believes in a quick agreement, Angjeli says this month will be decisive for Greece, the Eurozone and Albania. Although there is nothing to fear from the banking system, our economy will be influenced in other directions.
“Exports and imports will be influenced. Some businesses in southeastern Albania will also be affected”, Angjeli declared.
Another danger for the Albanian economy is the dropped investments from Greece, but the biggest question comes from the consequences on Albanian emigrants.
“They will go to other European job markets and some will turn in Albania. I am sure that the government is taking measures to manage it. Then there’s the issue of lower remittances”, Angjeli declared.
