The 38-year-old, Andon Mehillaj, appeared to the Court of Serious Crimes
to hear the arrest measure from Judge Etleva Deda, a measure taken in
his absence.
The defendant heard the eight charged pressed by the Prosecution of Serious Crimes, based on the confession of Julian Sinani.
Sinani declared that Mehillaj ordered and financed a series of crimes in Vlore. Prosecutors Ardian Nexha and Behar Dibra read the charges, such as terrorist acts for spreading panic in the population, financing terrorist acts, trafficking weapons and ammunition, illegal possession of firearms, illegal possession of military ammunition, illegal possession of explosives, murder of Sokol Veizi and murder of Agron Cela.
Mehillaj denied knowing Julian Sinani, and declared that he fears for his life, since Sinani is known as a killer in Vlore.
One of Sinani’s lawyers warned that Mehillaj will undergo a test for a mental disease, which he has treated for years.
Mehillaj’s family is still hiding while his cousin, Genis Mehillaj, is still at large.
