The Criminal Court of Tirana sentenced the 21-year-old Aldo Hoxha to
life in prison for the murder of Fatbardha Tafa, who was killed during a
robbery attempt.
The court accepted the Prosecution’s request, despite of the defense lawyers who insisted that the man was innocent and that he had nothing to do with the case.
The lawyer compared Hoxha’s case with Simpson’s, in Texas, who was charged for murder and then was found innocent after experts analyzed the weapon of the crime.
“Our same request is to analyze the hat in which the Prosecution says they have found a hair belonging to the defendant”, the lawyer said.
After the sentence, the lawyer said that he will challenge the verdict at the cout of appeal.
Prosecutor Indrit Bimi was taken under police custody, after being threatened by the defendant’s relatives.
