Aldo Bare (Alfred Shkurti) demands Karavasta back

12/09/2015 00:00

Alfred Shkurti, known as Aldo Bare, was sentenced to life as the Head of
the Lushnje gang, accused of various serious crimes. He complained to
the Court of Serious Crimes about a verdict that seized the Karavasta
Lagoon and passed it to the state.

Shkurti claims ownership of a 1200 square meter building and 11.000 square meter land. These assets were considered illegal and by 2011 passed to the Ministry of Environment. But from 1998 to 2006 it ahs resulted as property of Alfred Shkurti.

Bare says he bought the lagoon from the local fishermen, owners of the former state-owned fishing enterprise. He claims that the purcahse was legal. The Prosecution says the purchase was made under gun threat.

The case will be reviewed by Judge Fran Prendi.
