The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared that the leadership of the OSCE is a great prestige for Albania.
In an interview given to Top Channel’s journalist, Muhamed Veliu, Rama said that he will visit Moscow and Ukraine soon.
Veliu: You consider the OSCE leadership as a milestone for our country. What will Albania benefit from it?
Rama: Albania has been taking from the OSCE for many years and now it is the moment to give back.
This is a great prestige for Albania, and for us it will be an extraordinary experience.
We feel very responsible, but it is also a great opportunity to show the capabilities of Albania in the international arena.
I assure you that our country will be seen with even more respect by those who know us, and even those who don’t.
Veliu: Does Albania have the capacity to run an organization with 57 member countries?
Rama: We visited the special offices for this extraordinary mission, and we met the colleagues who are part of a team made of very able Albanian and international experts, who are an absolute guarantee for the success of the mission.
Veliu: Tomorrow you will hold a speech at the Parliament. What will be your message?
Rama: Tomorrow is the official takeover of the OSCE leadership, and I will address all the 57 member countries, communicating them our challenges and priorities.
Veliu: You may travel to Moscow and Ukraine in a possible meeting with Putin. What matters are you going to discuss?
Rama: We are going to wait for the confirmations, and then we are going to ask for the meetings.
There will be three first meetings, whether with the USA, the US Congress, the UN, maybe in Ukraine or Moscow.
That’s when we are going to know exactly who will host the meeting and with whom we’ll be discussing matters.
