Hungary filled Albanians with hopes three times, and Portugal took them
away three times, in a dramatic match not only for the countries
involved, but also for third-places hoping for qualification.
Hungary’s victory would leave Albania still hoping for qualification, and their goal scored by Gera at the 19th minute lifted everybody’s humor up, but Portugal equalized three minutes before the first half was over.
Hungary returned to lead 2-1 in the second half by a goal scored by Dzsudzsak, but Ronaldo equalized again after three minutes. Dzsudzsak scored again and Ronald answered back again.
Both teams withdrew after this result and refused to take anymore risks.
Iceland, on the other hand, defeated Austria 2-1 with a second goal in the last minutes, guaranteeing their qualification and making Austrians leave the championship with one point.
