The Municipality of Thessalonica, Greece, together with the Albanian
Consulate, have opened for four days the exhibition of the well known
photo reporter Roland Tasho, “the Albanians of Greece”.
100 images are added to a cycle that has started since 2003 and which identifies successful Albanians throughout the world. This time they are focused on the Albanians who reside in the country that has welcomed the biggest number of emigrants from Albania.
“I am continuing this project with the most famous Albanians throughout the world after finishing in Italy, Switzerland, France and America. I am continuing everywhere there are Albanians”, Tasho declared.
Among the photos there are businessmen, engineers, university professors, actors, painters, musicians, journalists and doctors. The Albanian Consul in Thessalonica, Riza Poda, declared that this is a contribution to the Diaspora that not only shows the strength of the Albanian community, but also the important role that it has in the country where they are living and the mutual relations.
“As shown by this exhibition of the talented photographer Roland Tasho, the Albanians are really talented and successful in all areas and all professions. They have an extraordinary contribution in all connections between Greece and Albania, and I can even say that they are a very strong connecting bridge that will also contribute in the future between these neighboring country”, declared Riza Poda, the Albanian consul in Thessalonica.
“All Albanians in Greece and especially those who live in Thessalonica respect and honor your work and efforts”, declared the Mayor of Thessalonica, Giannis Mpoutaris.
The project was supported by the Greek Embassy in Tirana and the Albanian Ministry of Culture. After Tirana and Thessalonica, the exhibition will travel to Athens and other cities in Greece and Albania.
