Three Albanians arrested in Vlora on Tuesday morning as part of an international police operation against drug trafficking will be extradited in Italy after Italian authorities have immediately stared legal procedures.
Sources near the Prosecutor’s Office told Top Channel Albanian authorities have only arrest mandates from Italy for the 3 Vlora natives, because only Italian police has been investigating them for drug trafficking in Italy from other parts of Europe.
According to them one of the arrested is also the head of the group. Albanian prosecutors will also wait for details from their Italian colleagues to begin investigating where they invested money earned through illegal activities.
The criminal group, consisting in total of 11 members, 9 of which Albanians, has been trafficking cocaine and cannabis in Italy from Luxemburg, Belgium and the Netherlands.
