Albanian writer Ismail Kadare awarded in Italy

The Albanian writer, Ismail Kadare, has received a prize in Italy.

Kadare was honoured in Udinese with the motivation “loved rhapsod and critic for his people.

Kadare won the prestigious “Nonino” prize for 2018, which goes to important personalities of art and culture.

The award was decided by the jury led by Nobel winner V.S Naipaul.

“Between the historic reality and legends, which recall the majesty and tragedies of the Ottoman and Balkan past, Ismail Kadare has created great stories”, says the verdict of the jury.

Italian Philosopher Giorgio Agamben, who created “Homo Sacer”, also received “Master of Our Time” Award.
