The European Weightlifting Championship in Tel Aviv has resulted very successful for the Albanian team.
The Shkodra weightlifter, Erkand Qerimaj, was declared Champion of Europe for the 77 kg weights, lifting 349 kg in total. Daniel Godelli won the second place with the same weight.
Qerimaj lifted 155 kg in Snatch, two less than the other Albanian, Godelli, with 157, taking the bronze medal. Godelli received the silver mdeal only due to the bigger body weight than the Armenian weightlifter.
Qerimaj has lifted more than any other competitor, 194 kg, receiving a golden medal in this style and leaving Godelli in the second place with two kilograms less.
As regards women, Romela Begaj was disqualified due to an injury. The European Championship will close for the Albanian team in April 11th, with Ervis Tabaku.
