Faced with the country being affected by the new coronavirus, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today from an emergency cabinet meeting a series of precautionary measures, starting with the closure of schools.

“We decided to close educational institutions for a 2-week period to prevent the spread of the epidemic and then evaluate the process. The reason why for the closure? It should be clear to everyone that in all the statistics so far released, the least threatened demographic is the youngest. But on the other hand, young people and children, who due to the fact that they have to go to school or to kindergarten, they get together and become carriers, so they can transmit the virus to others ”, says Rama.

In addition to the schools, the government also introduced a number of other measures regarding air and sea shipping.

“Suspension of direct flights, or trips to northern Italy and virtually to all of the marked red areas until April 3rd. Another element that is very important to note and necessary to consider by all individuals, is the self-quarantine or the self-isolation of persons coming from the areas with the virus outbreak at the community level, or as the so-called red areas. These are monitored with extreme rigor by health structures ”, said Rama.
