The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, received Katja Leikert, the German MP, Vice Chairwoman of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group for Europe.
Meta praised the excellent relations between the countries and underlined the special attention that Germany is paying to Albania, the region and the European perspective.
The President thanked the Bundestag for their special commitment in preventing a further deepening of the political crisis in Albania, noting that if the suggestions of the CDU had been followed, the situation in Albania would have been very different today.
Meta reiterated that the only solution to this crisis are the elections on October 13th, an opportunity that if lost, would only further escalate the crisis.
