From Gaza, Top Channel brings the testimony of an Albanian-Palestinian who has left Albania with his sister in 1998.
Top Channel’s Muhamed Veliu spoke by phone with Iljad Ashour, who along with his wife and four children have been sheltering in a school since the start of the bombings.
About the current situation in Gaza Iljadi says:
“Every minute there are bombings in Gaza City. The north of Gaza has been completely razed by the air raids. There is no inhabitant in the north. The situation in Gaza is very bad, very serious. Bombardments every five to ten minutes.”
As in any war, this one too has not spared the children. Following the interview, Iladi shows how they are trying to calm the children as the Israeli planes continue bombing the city.
“We tell children that they are fireworks. Now they are used to the noise of this condition. They only bring us food from the United Nations.”
Like Amal’s sister, interviewed earlier by Top Channel, Iljadi says that they tried unsuccessfully to get out of Gaza, since the city is now surrounded by the Israeli army waiting for a ground attack.
“We want to leave Gaza if possible. All borders are attacked there are no exits. The whole war is on the border,” Iljadi further said to Top Channel.
