The onset of the pandemic somewhat hampered the flight of Albanian health workers to Germany as it suspended travel even though demand was high from EU countries.
But in 202, the demand to leave the Albanian health system to be employed in EU countries has almost tripled.
Germany is not the only favorite country for Albanian nurses and physiotherapists, as many of them have turned to England as it offers high salaries or Italy which employs them without extensive examinations.
Many of them after working briefly in EU countries move to Sweden and Norway, according to reports.
Nurses and physiotherapists but also Albanian radiologists leave in the first place for higher salaries, better working conditions, while in our health system gaps are created which tend to be filled with students who have just completed their studies.
