The well-known journalist and presenter of the TV news-show “Diary” of the Voice of America in the Albanian language, Rudina Dervishi, has passed away on Tuesday at the age of 53, after a two-year battle with breast cancer.
The announcement was given by the Albanian Service of the Voice of America, where they wrote: “For more than 25 years, Rudina made a valuable contribution with her professionalism, covering various topics from the economy, politics, human rights, women’s and art.
“We, her VOA colleagues, will remember Rudina for her insight, dynamism, humor and dedication. She leaves behind her husband, three sons and her mother.”
The President of Albania, Begaj also expressed his condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Dervishi, considering the deceased was a loved figure for Albanians around the world.
