Albanian government publishes sums of life insurance compensation for military personnel on missions abroad

The Council of Ministers approved today the decision to ensure the lives of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Albania, who are sent on military missions or training in foreign countries.

The details of this decision have been published on the official website of the Council of Ministers, among which it is stated:

“1. The Ministry of Defense ensures the lives of the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, who are sent on military missions and training abroad, for the years 2024, 2025 and 2026.

  1. This insurance covers events in cases of:
  2. a) loss of life due to duty or as a result of accidents during its exercise;
  3. b) disappearance;
  4. c) health damage, resulting in permanent, total or partial disability, as a result of an accident during the duration of the military mission and training abroad;
  5. d) medical services in public or private hospitals inside and/or abroad, when health coverage is not provided in public hospitals.
  6. The amount specified in the insurance contract, for each insured person, is not lower than:
  7. a) 10,000,000 ALL ($100 000), for cases of loss of life due to duty or disappearance of the person;
  8. b) 12,000,000 ALL ($120 000), for cases of health damage resulting in permanent disability;
  9. c) 5,000,000 ALL ($50 000), for cases of loss of life, as a result of accidents during the exercise of duty;
  10. d) 50,000 ALL ($5 000), for cases of health damage, resulting in temporary disability.
