In a meeting with representatives of the Presheva Valley, the Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, let to be understood that Albania doesn’t support a possible border exchange between Kosovo and Serbia.
The official declaration of the Foreign Ministry shows that Tirna sees the future of the valley as Serbia’s territory. The declaration also notes that Minister Bushati guaranteed the Presheva Valley representatives that the Albanian government would keep asking Serbia to give the Lugina Vally more respect and more involvement in the decision-making process.
The Minister then underlines the importance of the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo, and of implementing the agreements and Kosovo’s integration process. This part made it clear that Tirana prefers an implementation of the current existing political agreements between Prishtina and Belgrade, which don’t include territorial exchange.
