Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that Albania will help Croatia after Tuesday’s earthquake with 250 thousand euros.
“I just signed the decree of the Government of Albania to donate 250 thousand EUROS to Croatia to help the reconstruction in Petrinja after the devastating earthquake! Croatia is an example of resistance and a model for us in its amazing transformation into a proud EU country,” Rama wrote.
At least seven people have been killed in a magnitude 6.4 earthquake that struck central Croatia on Tuesday.
Rescue crews spent the night in the rubble of damaged buildings in search of survivors.
A 12-year-old girl died in Petrinja, five others in the nearby town of Glina, and a seventh victim was found under the rubble of a church in Zazina.
About 20 people are injured and the material damage is great. The mayor of Petrinja said that almost half of the city had been destroyed and many of the residents were afraid to return to their homes as a result of the tremors.
