The Albanian Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs expressed its regret for the death of Konstandinos Kacifa, and also its disappointment at the politicization of this incident is Greece.
“The Albanian authorities have published the specific circumstances in which his death took place. The State Police has made it very clear that this incident is completely isolated from today’s celebrations in the area, and that it is nothing more than an extremist act of flagrant aggression against the Albanian State Police. The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs expressed its disappointment at the reaction of the Greek Foreign Ministry, which not only did not condemn the armed attack against our law-enforcement officers, but it also spoke about ‘an unacceptable loss.” the Ministry states.
“We appeal our neighbors for maturity and to not paint this very clear and unprecedented incident with political and diplomatic colors. We assure our neighbours that Albania is a safe place for all of its citizens, without distinction, including those of Greek nationality”, concludes the statement of the Albanian Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
