The Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, commented the decision of
the Macedonian President, Djordje Ivanov, against the platform of the
Albanian parties.
“Albanians in Macedonia are a state-forming population. The fear to build a more equal and solid society, based on the European values, is the wrong course”, Bushati said.
From Athens, where he is attending an official visit, Bushati said that Albanians have historically been a state-forming factor in Macedonia.
“Albanians have always been part of the democratic state forming process of Macedonia, from its recognition as an independent state and to the open communication canals with the political factors, to encourage a bigger cohesion that characterizes a multi-ethnic Macedonia”, Nishani said.
