Albanian Foreign Minister: “Accession negotiations will be started by 2018”

The Foreign Minister of Albania, Ditmir Bushati, said for the Voice of America that Albania’s chances to start accession negotiations.
“We expect 2018 to be a determinative year as regards Albania’s European perspective, as regards the decision of EU member countries for Albania’s accession”
Bushati says that Albania has been focused on its duties:
“The judiciary reform, the vetting law and the way how the Vetting law will be implemented, is a main priority. But we are also focused on implementing key priorities that are not related to the EU integration, but to the democratization process of the country. And this includes the fight against organized crime, fight against corruption, consolidation of achievements at the public administration, respecting of basic freedoms and human rights”, he declared.
According to the Albanian Chief Diplomat, the results of the Vetting Law will be seen by Spring.
