Ergys Kace, an Albanian player of the Greek football team in
Thessalonica, PAOK, explained what he declared in the commission of
discipline when he was summoned this monday regarding a photo that he
had posted on Facebook wearing a Kosovo Liberation Army shirt, which
spurred harsh reactions throughout Greece.
Kace says that he is sorry that his action gave some people the right to speak badly about PAOK and his fans, adding that PAOK has helped him and his family and that he doesn’t want it to be commented negatively.
After understanding that he might not play for PAOK in the future, Kace declared that his future there depends on the President of the team, Savidhis, the club leaders and fans.
He declared in front of the discipline commission that he didn’t know what KLA was, and that he wore the blouse just because it had an Albanian flag, without knowing that it would cause such reactions in Greece.
“If I knew I would not have worn it, because this is where I was grown up, where I studied, and this is my second fatherland”, the player said.
