The Albanian Football Federation declared that they will appeal the UEFA
decision for penalizing Albania and by giving the victory to Serbia.
The Albanian Football Federation General Secretary, Ilir Shulku, announced the decision and explained that the Disciplinary Commission has not published the arguments yet.
Artan Hajdari, legal representative of the Albanian Football Federation, said that the decision remains strange, but Albania will start the procedures for appealing it.
“We have the right to receive the arguments within five days. The legal battle will continue and we hope that justice will be made”, Hajdari declared.
He says that the main punishment for Albania is the fact that the national team refused to continue the game.
The violence footage from the Belgrade stadium were seen on news outlets around the world. The verbal attacks started with the stadium chanting “kill Albanians”, it continued with the throwing of firecrackers and was finalized when a drone with the Albanian flew above the stadium and dozens of Serbian fans entered the field and beat the Albanian players, who were also attacked by the security forces inside the stadium.
