Albanian Football Federation sends CAS report to Zagreb for Ismail Morina

The Albanian Football Federation, in an efforts to help stop the
extradition of Ismail Morina from Croatia to Serbia (the man who flew a
drone over Belgrade’s stadium during Serbia-Albania match), sent over to
the Justice Ministry a report regrading a verdict from the Court of
Arbitration for Sports about the match.

In this verdict, CAS gives three points to Albania after they mention racist chants against Albanians and an unprecedented physical violence coming from fans and even stadium personnel against the technical staff and Albania’s national team.

These details, together with the respective video, will be part of the relation that the Albanian Justice Minister, Gazment Bardhi, will soon send to the Croatian counterpart to convince their government to not allow Morina’s extradition to Serbia, as decided by the Court of Dubrovnik.

The Croatian law allows that despite verdicts taken by courts, when there are claims about ethnic or racist dangers, it is the Croatian government who says the last word.

Foreign Minister Bushati declared that after the meeting of the respective Prime Ministers, Morina will not be extradited to Serbia. He brought as example the decision of Italy, which refused to extradite him to Belgrade. There will be a preliminary session at the Croatian Supreme Court this August 11th, regarding this issue.
