Albanian Food Authority seize unhealthy meat imported from Canada and Brazil

The National Food Authority, after making some inspections at the Durres Port, has seized a considerable amount of unsafe meat coming from Canada and Brazil.
74 tons of meat coming from Canada was lacking many documents and had a presence of Ractopmamina, a medical product that is not registered and even banned in Albania and the EU.
Two other cargos from Brazil, a total of 52 ton, with Kosovo as their destination, also had missing documentation.
Other tests in the past have resulted in salmonella. Six cargos, a total of 152 ton, are about to be returned to their destination countries. Brazil and Cyprus, mainly as veal, pork and chicken fillet.
