The next international success of the movie Maya has been achieved at
the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema, held in Great
Britain.
The director Pluton Vasi was honored with the “Best Director” award, one of the two biggest prizes in the festival. Maya was also nominated for the “Best Supportive Actress”, “Best Make Up” and “Best Foreign Movie”.
“It is known that the value of an artwork is universal, but on the personal point of view, it is an extraordinary pleasure for me. I would lie to be modest now”, says Pluton Vasi.
The British critics have valued Maya as a different film in the series of international movies, with new approach to the human behavior of envy and gossip.
These comments were based in the main plot of the film that treats the history of a woman that is trapped by the gossips of a small community in which she lives.
“I wish every Albanian filmmaker to reach such a satisfaction”, Vasi declared.
