The Albanian tenor, Saimir Pirgu, enchanted the public at the Palace of Congresses.
His voice has received accolades all over Europe, USA and Asia, but at home there is a special feeling.
“Besides the Albanian public there was a lot from the Diaspora, who follow me all around the world. But it was a special feeling singing here at home”, Pirgu said.
As for Albania’s image created to the world by politicians, Pirgu said that they have been doing a very bad job about it in the past 20 years.
“I would need to have 200.000 shows to make up for burnt tires that block the roads today as they did 10 years ago”, Pirgu said.
He will return soon to Japan, Tokio, to perform as the protagonist of the “Werter” opera play, directed by Nicolas Joel.
