Albanian exports have continued to fall even during the month of October, as in the first 10 months of the year there are 350 million euros less exported goods, the authorities report.

The two most hit items are raw materials as well as the group of textiles and shoes. On the other hand, the goods entering the country have suffered a sharp decrease, which also comes as a result of the economic slowdown.

In October, exports reached the value of ALL 37 billion, or a decrease of 4.3%. Although down compared to a year ago, the contraction has slowed down compared to other months of the year. This was helped by the group of minerals, fuels and electricity, as well as construction materials and metals, which experienced growth.

On the other hand, textiles and shoes continue to suffer, decreasing even in October, while the devaluation of the euro is reported to have influenced this group. The other groups have also decreased, where the decrease in the export of food stands out, which during the first 8 months saw only growth.

Imports have also decreased, except the group of construction materials and metals has continued to grow, suggesting the good performance of the construction sector in the country. On the other hand, the import of energy has marked a strong contraction from a year ago, while the price per megawatt/hour has decreased.

During October, exports with our main trading partners increased only with Kosovo and Greece. As for imports, we had mainly China and Germany.
