The religious centers founded by Albanian communities around the world have turned into heritage and culture centers.

A priceless contribution has been given by the Albanian Orthodox Church “St. Nicholas” and the Albanian-American Islamic Center in Chicago, which were visited last Sunday by the Minister of State for the Diaspora, Pandeli Majko.

The Church, which becomes 75 years old next year, is one of the most visited in the USA, rich with artifacts and rare pictures about Albania’s history.

Minister Majko informed the participants about a section at the Albanian Museum of History in Tirana, dedicated exclusively to the Diaspora. It will display materials collected by the Orthodox community, and part of the collection are unseen pictures of Faik Konica.

The church also teaches Albanian language. During his meeting at the Islamic Albanian-American Center, Majko congratulated the great efforts of its members for turning the center into a place where Albanian traditions are preserved.
