The Minister of the Diaspora, Pandeli Majko, refused to vote the law for the demolition of the National Theater.
A debate created with PM Minister Rama has apparently made the former PM, now Minister of the Diaspora, to hand over his resignation, but Rama refused it.
When the majority gathered to vote the law for demolishing the current National Theater for building a new one, much opposed by many actors and the opposition, Majko responded to a phone call and left the room before he had to vote.
Later he was seen having a debate with Rama. From their gestures, it seemed a nervous conversation. Politicians said that Rama was heard telling him to “stop playing games and rather go home, if you don’t want to vote the law”.
Majko refused to answer to Top Channel’s requests for an explanation.
In 2002, when Majko was Prime Minister and Rama Mayor of Tirana, they two had another disagreement about the theater. Rama wanted to demolish the current one and build a new building, but Majko stopped the procedures.
