German authorities published the full data for the asylum seekers in 2015. As expected, the number of Albanians is high.

55.000 Albanian citizens have filed asylum requests, making them second after Syria, being followed by the other Albanian state, Kosovo.

The number of immigrants from Albania in 2015 is 5 times higher than in 2014. The same thing as for Kosovo. Data from the German authorities show that the number of incoming Albanian asylum seekers dropped in October with 4680 people, in November with 3044 people and in December with 1801 people.

Four Balkan countries top the list, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia and Macedonia.

To minimize the flux from Balkan, the German authorities decided to recognize these countries as safe places of origin, which cuts the rejection procedures.

The asylum seekers flocked Germany in the first months of 2015, after news that Germany was offering economic asylum was spread by some travel agencies. The Albanian government used as argument the fact that many asylum seekers from Albania were actually immigrants in Greece.
