A military team made of Albanian and British soldiers liberated a
building held by terrorists in a matter of minutes, during their joint
training in Albania.

Even in a real situation the team would give the same result, thanks to a good coordination between land, air and marine troops.

The training held at the Bisht Palla region was watched by President Ilir Meta and the respective British and Albanian Chiefs of Staff.

President Meta said this training is a revival of the British-Albanian alliance, which dates since the Second World War.

“Our Alliance with Britain has an early history, since the Second World War, when 53 British officers and soldiers died fighting side by side with Albanians. Today this alliance is being revived within world’s biggest alliance, the NATO”, Meta said.

We have progressed together with our military experiences in the NATO. I know that we will work well together in the future. I am convinced, as Chief of Staff of the United Kingdom, that our future is safer as result of this alliance. NATO remains the vital connection that guarantees the safety of our country”, said Stuart Peach, chief of the UK Defense Staff.

The Chief of Staff of the Albanian Army was on the same line, saying that only cooperation can keep Europe safer from external influences.

“There has been a big increase of external non-governmental influences. For this reason, it is our obligation to not only cooperate, but to also act together with the countries of the Alliance, as the only way to face common threats”, said Bardhyl Kollcaku, Chief of Staff of the Albanian Army.
