3000 passengers of the Albanian Airlines who have booked their plane
tickets until the end of November might not be able to travel to five
destinations, since four of their airplanes have been blocked.
The cause was a warning released by the Civil Aviation Authority of Albania, which revoked the air operation license to the company, causing the flights to be cancelled.
Albanian Airlines says that this action is opposed to the decision that this directory undertook four months earlier, on 25 July 2011, when the company passed all audits and renewed the certification for 15 months, the maximal possible deadline. According to the company, this shows that Albanian Airlines has always respected the EU rules and has been cooperative with the Albanian and Foreign Authorities.
The Company says that this is a clear service to the unjust competition, which will bring irreparable social and economic consequences.
The decision for blocking four airplanes was given by the Minister of Transports, Sokol Olldashi, during the plenary session.
Olldashi declared that the fact that there has been no accidents, shows the good job of this authority.
