The Tourism World Organization said that 3 million tourists have visited
Albania during 2014, marking a 20% growth to one year ago.
The General Secretary of this organization, Taleb Rifai, said that Albania has all the potential to increase the number of tourists with its natural, historic and cultural beauties that are still not widely known to the world.
The division of tourism in seasons is a problem that many other countries have overpassed time ago. In Albania, investments keep being concentrated in three months, creating after this a vacuum. Mr.Rifai says tha Albania has the recipe for offering tourism during the entire year through a surprising combination of mountains, sea, cultural and historic heritage.
“Albania has diversified natural products, from mountains to seas, forests, rivers. This is the best recipe for managing the seasons. Albania also has a history that could create many pieces of history. Why shouldn’t people start to believe that sitting by the Ochrid lake in winter is a special spiritual experience due to the histories that have taken place there”, Rifai said.
For turning Albania into a tourist destination throughout the entire year, the government must give more support to the cooperation of the public and private sectors, according to the General Secretary of the Tourism World Organization, Taleb Rifai.
