Albania needs disinfections

The lack of disinfections in the coastline, especially near-lagoon
tourist areas have increased the risk of infection by mosquitoes or
other insects.

Beaches such as Divjaka, Shengjin, Velipoja or tourist areas around Fier and Vlore, which are situated near the lagoons of Karavasta and Narta, have shown a serious concern for the visitors, stimulated by the high level of pollution.

The Health Minister, Petrit Vasili spoke about the risk of infections through insects, such as hemorrhagic fever, and he promised to ask the Interior Ministry taking the appropriate measures.

“We have to do with sporadic cases, not epidemics. All cases have been under control. Hemorrhagic fever should be treated with maximal care, regardless the form they appear, because it has serious conditions that could cause even death. We have had only one similar case, and the ministry has given a written order to increase alert in all our structures. We also aske the public to not improvise when treating diseases, but contact the personnel”, Vasili declared.

However, after the Nile virus appeared in our country and after some cases with hemorrhagic fever, Minister Vasili declared that these are sporadic cases, but nevertheless, all structures are in full alert.

Vasili gave these declarations after a meeting held with leaders and specialists of the public health. Currently there are 2 patients with Nile virus in Tirana and three others with hemorrhagic fever.
