After the recent high numbers of refugees from the Middle East, more
voices are being heard from Germany to consider Albania, Kosovo and
Montenegro as “safe countries of origin”.
The Prime Minister of Montenegro says that his country is a safe place of origin, but yet, people keep wanting to move. Same messages come from Kosovo, where Prime Minister Mustafa says that there is no political persecution or torture. The same thing can be said for Albania, according to Deutsche Welle.
However, Bernd Mesovic, from the German human rights organization “Pro Asyl”, considers these public declarations a scandal. He says that even the leaders of North Korea would declare that his country is a safe place of origin.
Experts say that youth will never stop looking for a better life, even if their countries are considered as safe places of origin.
