The Prosecution of Serious Crimes is verifying the assets of the men
arrested in Albania after a police operation that seized considerable
quantities of cocaine, heroine and marijuana.
The investigators said that they are waiting for the arrest of Gezim Cela, one of the most wanted drug traffickers, who has appeared very active in the surveillance of the Serious Crimes about an illegal line between Latin America, Kosov, Albania, Italy and the European Union countries.
The 51-year-old Gezim Cela is accused of organizing the traffic, same as his brother and their Albanian-American collaborator, Valentina Tufa, who was arrested in Prishtina one day after leaving Tirana.
The investigations show that the woman, who is a professional chemist, had traveled to Kosovo for inspecting the quality of the cocaine that was contained in a lab in Kosovo. After the verifications, the quantity would be sent to Albania, in Cela’s house, and then would be distributed to other transporters.
The other suspect who was arrested is Erald Hysolli, who served as a transporter. He was followed by the police and arrested a the Morina border checkpoint with 7 kilograms of heroine. Police suspects that he is part of the drug that followed the Turkey-Prishtina-Lac line, through some suspects in Fier, from where it was transported to Italy.
Sources explain that right after the arrest, the Special Prosecution of Kosovo has made four arrests and blocked the Prishtina lab, while the rest of the drug was found the rest of the drug.
Sources say that although two other citizens appear as implicated in the surveillance, they have been arrested only for illegal arm possession and their investigation will be reviewed by a common court.
