A government source say that in the past Brussels summit Albania has not
been asked to host any given number of Syrian refugees, nor has our
country asked to host. No fund has been discussed for any possible
humanitarian operation of this nature.
Since Albania has not been affected by the flux, it is early to talk about quotas or funds. What concerns the EU is that if our country would suddenly turn into a transitory route, the authorities should cooperate with the EU to register the persons that will enter or leave Albania.
Experience in other countries showed that refugees aim only to go to Germany, Austria and Sweden.
