The Conference of EU Parliamentary Speakers, held in Vienna, on April 8th and 9th, appeal the EU to continue the enlargement process with Western Balkan countries, after the visible progress made by Albania and the other countries of the region.
The Speakers of 28 EU Parliaments praise the results reached so far, and encourage these countries to keep fulfilling the EU accession criteria.
Referring to the increasing presence of other actors in the region, especially China, they appeal the EU to keep promoting its values and defend its interests in Western Balkan, as this is an investment for peace, democracy and security.
