Albania will face France today at 21:00. Both teams have faced each
other twice during the qualification campaign, but only in friendly
matches. Albania won the first match 1-0 in Elbasan Arena, and a tie 1-1
in Stade de la Route-de-Lorient in Rennes.
Albania’s victory in Elbasan was the only one against France, which has played against our country four other times in qualification rounds, winning all four of them.
The first loss against France was in November 1990, 0-1 in Tirana. A few months later in France we lost 5-0.
In 2012, Albania lost 1-2 in Tirana and 3-0 in France.
Any result in today’s match except for loss would increase the optimism of our team before the final group match with Romania.
