On the second day of the economic summit between China and Southeastern
European countries in Belgrade, Prime Minister Rama met with the Chinese
Prime Minister, Li Keqiang, and with the Serbian one, Alexandar Vucic.
In this meeting they discussed about bilateral meetings beyond the 10 billion USD package that Beijing has promised to invest in the region mainly in infrastructure. Prime Minister Rama encouraged more cooperation in agriculture and in increasing the Chinese investments in energy and infrastructure.
Prime Minister Li Keqiang valued the relations between both countries as excellent, and expressed his pleasure for a third meeting within this year with the Albanian Prime Minister. On behalf of the Chinese government, he expressed his desire to increase the agricultural imports from Albania and also the investments of Chinese companies in the energy production and for developing infrastructure, which would help not only Albania, but also the connection of our country with the main axes in Balkan and Southeastern Europe.
Prime Minister Rama invited the Chinse Prime Minister to visit Albania. The Chinese Prime Minister announced a fourth meeting with 16 European countries in China.
After the meeting with the Chinese Prime Minister, Edi Rama attended a meeting with his Serbian counterpart, Alexandar Vucic. The meeting was held without the presence of the media. A press release from the Albanian Prime Minister’s office says that PM Rama valued the increased economic cooperation between Albania and Serbia, and valued the importance of extending this cooperation in the regional infrastructure.
Both Prime Ministers signed a bilateral agreement for the mutual recognition of driving licenses, an agreement signed by the Serbian Minister of Interior, Nebojsha Stefanovic, and the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure of Albania, Edmond Haxhinasto.
