Albania and Kosovo Diaspora Ministers in Geneva, Switzerland

The Diaspora Minister, Pandeli Majko, attended a visit in Switzerland, where he met with the Albanian community and with the chairman of the Kosovo-Switzerland Chamber of Commerce, Staphan Sarkany, in presence of his Kosovo counterpart, Dardan Gashi.

Valuing the close cooperation between Albania and Kosovo on Diaspora matters, he appreciated the fact that both Ministers were together in this mission.

Sarkany mentioned the projects of the institution led by him for professional training of the Albanian youth.

Switzerland, according to him, is famous for the best professional education in the world.

Mentioning the successful cooperation with Kosovo, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce expressed his interest for similar projects with Albania.

The Ministers visited the Popular University of Geneva, which is considered an integration laboratory.

The President of this university, also MP of the Swiss Parliament, considered Geneva as one of the most international cities in the world, and mentioned the strong ties with Albania and Kosovo.

“But being integrated doesn’t mean forgetting your origin”, he said, underlining the importance of preserving one’s identity, culture and history.

Both ministers valued the efforts of this institution for supporting the integration of the Albanian people, and expressed their interest for joint projects.

The present members paid homage to the bust of the Albanian hero, Skanderbeg, at the Leman Lake.
