Being unemployed is difficult anywhere in the world, but in some countries it is more difficult than in another.
A recent report of the World Employment Organization lists Albania in the last ten countries for the protection of the unemployed.
The report says that the state budget offers only 6.9% of the unemployed. The rest, 93.1%, don’t receive any payment.
The report says there are only nine other countries in the world that offer the same level of coverage, among which are Argentina, Tunisia, Bosnia, Afghanistan, etc.
In every other country, governments assist a higher percentage of the unemployed.
The country with the highest coverage is Austria, where the government supports with direct payments 90% of the unemployed. Germany and Malta come second and third respectively.
All EU developed countries help the unemployed. The Employment Organization says these payments play a key role in the EU for preventing poverty.
