The hydric situation in our country appears alarming due to the lack of
rainfalls and due to the abnormal drought of the past months.
Data from the Albanian Power Corporation show that the water level in the Drin cascade has fallen suddenly, with a huge difference compared to the same period of one year ago.
The water level in Fierza has fallen to 274.79 meters, when the maximal level that is allowed is 296 meters. The average daily water flow is 84 cubic meters per second. On the same period of one year ago, the water level in Fierza was 291.26 meters, due to excessive flow.
The level of the Koman lake was 172.24 metres, when the allowed maximal level was 175. Its average flow was 193 cubic meters per second. The water level in Vau I Dejes is 74.45 meters, from 76 that are allowed, with an average flow of 216 cubic meters per second. Experts say that the situation will keep being concerning for as long that the drought will continue.
