Four days after several unidentified persons robbed bank money inside
the perimeter of the Tirana airport, before it was loaded on an
airplane, the concessionary Spokesperson said that the Tirana
International Airport (TIA) has notified the police while the van was
still there, and police had their representatives on the field, and that
they are the first ones to be blamed.

The Deputy Minister of Interior, Stefan Cipa, said that the time stamp on the camera is very clear and the authorities are the one who should speak for this.

The private security “ICTS”, certified by the Albanian Civil Aviation Authority, said that they operate unarmed. They say that the State Police is the only law-enforcing agency with armed officers that guards the public order outside the perimeter of the airport.

However, Airport Partners refused to comment the report of the security test which was carried out by the State Police and Civil Aviation on April 20th, and which showed that the airport security failed to stop the entrance of explosives and stabbing weapons.
