Small planes will spray forests with rabies vaccine for foxes, which are the main species for spreading the disease.
The Ministry of Agriculture says that the method, which has support from the European Union, guarantees safe vaccination.
Four special airplanes will throw the vaccines that are made specifically for the red fox. The operation will last 12 days through the entire territory, except for urban areas and water surfaces.
The ministry appeals residents to not feed these vaccines to their animals, in case they find them around, as 560.000 will be thrown in total throughout the territory.
