The Minister of Finances said that the new fiscal package will have
important procedural changes, which affect business directly.
“With the new fiscal package we will allow businesses to make self-declarations of the past five years without being punished”, he said.
The chance for businesses to correct tax declarations without punishment will be followed with an obligation for the tax administration.
“The administration will be bound to warn businesses one month before inspections, so that they can correct themselves without being punished”, the Minister of Finances added.
He said that the tax inspectors must change their behavior with businesses in order to reduce repression.
“Taxes cannot be gathered with force. We need to change mentality. We need to be by the side of businesses, not as an opposite front”, he said.
A few days ago, the IMF criticized the tax administration by saying that they need to improve their fight against corruption and relations with businesses.
