The Socialist Party reported the process for collecting bad debts
from CEZ Distribution. According to MP Arben Ahmetaj, CEZ
Distribution has favoured clients that have strong ties with the
government.
“Why should CEZ hire a company for collecting debts from public institutions? What is the reason? The simple reason is that they want to divert funds. We can show you other agreements that are direct clients of the government”, Ahmetaj declared.
“Sali Berisha, who has said and still says that everything has been transparent, must tell us if he knows all these clients from Albanian Telecommunication Unit or other companies such as Astin Elite Consulting or Constal, which have direct connections”, he added.
Ahmetaj showed an agreement saying it belongs to a person related with officials of the CEZ supervisory council.
“I want to show you an agreement that has a direct conflict of interest. In this document we have people from the CEZ Supervisory Council, someone named Majlind Lazimi, who is General Secretary at the Ministry of Economy. This agreement is made with a person that has direct connections with him. A direct conflict that damages the consumers and the energy system”, Ahmetaj declared.
These agreements have damaged the transparency. The Prime Minister must show why ERE and the government allowed high confidentiality agreements, as said in this agreement, through which CEZ obliges debt collectors to keep the secret from the Albanian public, ERE and the government”, the Socialist MP declared.
Ahmetaj added that CEZ is using Czech companies to collect debts, only for diverting money from the main stream and avoid public transparency.
