The Albanian Minister for Economic Development, Arben Ahmetaj, published
the progressive tax that will be established for every employee from
January 1st 2014.
According to Ahmetaj, the application of the progressive tax returns the 13th salary for all employees, after removing their tax burden.
“Since January 1st, 97% of the employees will pay less. The progressive tax is a blessing for the middle class and the people in need. 338872 employees are freed from the tax burden.
Ahmetaj explains that different from the flat tax, those who are paid 30.000 ALL or under do not pay any tax. While those who are paid more than 30.000, such as nurses, teachers and doctors, would pay 10% less than with the former tax.
